The focus of Stages classes is on theatre education.  The purpose is to develop and expand performance skills in a supportive, nurturing environment.  

STAGES TECH: INTRO TO MICROPHONES

Interested in being a Sound Intern for an upcoming production at Stages? We strongly encourage you to participate in this 90-minute, hands-on class led by sound designer Genevieve Wright and technical director Tom Pembrook. In this class, you will learn the following necessary skills: how to set up a working microphone and how to properly and professional install a body mic on an actor.

STAGES TECH: FIXTURES AND FOCUSING

Interested in being a Lighting Intern for an upcoming production at Stages? We strongly encourage you to participate in this 90-minute, hands-on class led by technical director Tom Pembrook. In this class, you will learn the following necessary skills: the uses and proper mounting of five types of light fixtures above the Stages stage and how to focus them.

STAGES TECH: INTRO TO LIGHT BOARD

Interested in being a Lighting Intern for an upcoming production at Stages? We strongly encourage you to participate in this 90-minute, hands-on class led by lighting designer Sarah Zwart and technical director Tom Pembrook. In this class, you will learn the following necessary skills: how to create and edit light cues on the light board and how to add fun effects/color to your cues.

Classes are filled on the basis of when the registration is received.  Enroll early – limited class size. 

CANCELLED SESSION: Stages reserves the right to cancel any class for any reason, in which case tuition for that class will be fully refunded.

 

WITHDRAWAL POLICY: The class fee is refundable, less a $25 administrative fee, up to one week prior to the start of class. Otherwise, the class fee is non-refundable except in the case of illness or emergency that prevents the child from starting class. (The $25 deposit is not refundable.)

 

LOCATION: All classes and performances take place at Stages, Auditorium Center, 3rd floor, 875 E. Main St, Rochester.

 

PARKING: If an event is taking place at the Auditorium Theatre, you may be charged to park. Tell the attendant you are with “Stages” to receive a discount.
