Expanded Camp:

The demand for participation in this Newsies JR. camp is through the roof, with the camp originally filling in less than 4 hours. To provide as many kids as possible with this summer theater experience, and after consideration of the possibilities, we have decided to increase the number of spots in the camp. We are committed to providing the same quality experience that you have come to expect at Stages.

• The campers will be cast, by the directors, in one of two full casts.
• Campers will rehearse and enjoy down time together, as scheduled by directors.
• Additional artistic and support staff will be provided.
• Additional rehearsal space will be used throughout the building.
• Each cast will perform in two fully-staged performances. Cast performance dates, specific to your student, will be determined with casting.

Orientation/Casting: Saturday, August 6, 9:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Camp Dates & Times: August 15-26 (Mon - Fri), 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Show Dates & Times: August 26 @ 2:00 p.m., August 26 @ 7:00 p.m., August 27 @ 3:00 p.m. & 7:00 p.m.

 * The non-performing cast will receive a ticket to watch their counterparts perform. ​​​​​​​

Registration Fee: $525, full payment due by June 17, 2022

The Story: When powerful newspaper publishers raise prices at the newsboys' expense, the charismatic Jack Kelly rallies newsies from across the city to strike against the unfair conditions. Together, the newsies learn that they are stronger united and create a movement to fight for what's right.

We are grateful to be back on stage where our talented, focused and committed youth performers can bring theater magic and joy to an audience!

Once again circumstances surrounding the pandemic are changing.  Stages must navigate the ever-evolving COVID-19 protocols for masking as New York State lifts the mask requirement for schools effective March 2, 2022.  Our primary concern is to offer a safe environment for kids to escape into the magical world of theater.  To accomplish this we rely on the current CDC, New York State, and Monroe County COVID-19 statements.

To best serve the youth in our community, Stages theater is mask-optional as of March 2, 2022.  This will allow parents to decide whether their children should wear a mask when participating in our programs.  Audience members will also be mask-optional as of March 2, 2022.

These protocols are subject to change, effective immediately, as necessary based on changing circumstances. Safety of our young performers is our goal. Withdrawal Policy: For withdrawal from Summer Camps, any amount paid is refundable prior to the Registration Fee Due Date listed for each show or camp, minus the $100 nonrefundable deposit paid for each session and the online processing fees. After the Registration Fee Due Date, the session fee is non-refundable except in the case of illness or emergency that prevents the student from attending the session.
