Beginning April 2, the New York State COVID-19 restrictions will allow event, arts, and entertainment venues to reopen at 33 percent capacity, up to 100 people indoors and up to 200 people outdoors.  Social distancing and face coverings will be required for all attendees, as well as strict adherence to all applicable Department of Health guidance.

Our goal is to perform the below shows at whatever level is allowed at that time.  Stages will continue to comply fully with the protocols required by NYS for theater.  We are grateful live theater will once again be a part of this community - where our talented, focused, and committed youth performers can bring theater magic and joy to an audience!

STAGES SUMMER THEATER CAMPS @ STAGES

Supported by Rochester Broadway Theater League

Sign up and you’re in! Young entertainers can grow and expand their talents while rehearsing and performing in a Broadway musical. An experienced production team provides excellent instruction as students learn the show, with rehearsals five days per week that culminate in several performances. Stages gives a standing ovation with three cheers to RBTL for their continued support of our youth theater programs during the pandemic.  The support of RBTL allows Stages to provide theater opportunities to our youth in spite of the restrictions and limitations placed on live theater.

SUMMER FAQ

How do you plan to keep everyone safe?

Here at A Magical Journey Thru Stages, the safety of our students and staff is our top priority. To that end, we will be carefully following the stringent NYS Department of Health safety guidelines to mitigate the risk of COVID-19 while maintaining the high-quality programming you've come to expect. MERV13 filters have been installed in the Auditorium Center and at the JCC to provide continual air filtration. Disinfecting, washing, and sanitizing will occur on a routine basis. Parents will fill out an electornic survey prior to each camp day for their student. Masks and social distancing will be required. Last summer, Stages went above-and-beyond to exceed guidelines in order to provide as safe an experience as possible. While we don't yet have the Department of Health guidelines for this summer, safety will remain our top priority.

Will there be a performance that we can attend in person?

Beginning April 2, the New York State COVID-19 restrictions will allow event, arts, and entertainment venues to reopen at 33 percent capacity, up to 100 people indoors and up to 200 people outdoors. Social distancing and face coverings will be required for all attendees, as well as strict adherence to all applicable Department of Health guidance. Our goal is to perform our summer camp shows at whatever level is allowed at that time.

What is the connection with RBTL?

Stages and RBTL are located in the same building and, during this pandemic, have worked together to make sure that youth theater continues to be available in the Rochester area. We are thankful for their support.

What is the connection with the JCC?

Stages and the JCC join together to provide full-day options for our young performers. The programs are a perfect mix for a fun, entertaining, and theater-filled summer!

Will camps be outdoors?

At both the Auditorium Center and the JCC, students will be outdoors for part of the camp day - weather permitting.

Are there limits on capacity for summer camps?

Last summer, our camps were limited to static groups of 15. Camp guidelines for summer 2021 have not yet been released. We will share and follow all updated protocols.

What will the structure of the camp day be?

All registered campers will receive an email closer to the start of camp with details about orientation, the camp day, what to brings, lunch/snack, etc.

Who can I contact if I have additional questions about Stages' 2021 Summer Camps?

We will continue to update this webpage. If you have additional questions, please email stages@mjtstages.com or call 585-935-7173.
